The Ivace (Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness) launches the first laboratory of innovative ideas for 4.0 projects in the region - RIS3CV

The Instituto Valenciano de Competitividad Empresarial (Ivace) has set up and started up the first laboratory of innovative ideas in the area of industry 4.0 in the Comunitat Valenciana.

LAB industria 4.0 arises from the will of the Regional Ministry of Sustainable Economy and the Ivace to achieve the digital transformation of the industrial fabric of the Region, committing itself from the beginning to the cooperation and collaboration of all the agents involved in the promotion of innovation.

The director general of the Ivace, Júlia Company, presided over the first working meeting of LAB industria 4.0, where she stated that with this initiative "we want to achieve a competent society in industry 4.0, design an innovation system that will boost industry 4.0, promote an excellent regional industry as well as new opportunities for innovation through international technological cooperation".

"To this end, Company added, we count on the close and experienced collaboration of business associations, universities, technology centres and trade unions to whom we will listen, with whom we will generate proposals and take consensus decisions that will help us to prioritize and execute the actions foreseen in the Ivace's Industry Agenda 4.0 Plan".

These actions include, among others, the design of a regional web platform Industria 4.0 that will help to disseminate the most outstanding actions that the agents of the Valencian innovation system are developing in the area of industry 4.0 or the main novelties at national or European level in this area.

Another of these actions is the elaboration of a 4.0 capacity catalogue of universities and technology centres that will be made available to companies and society in general.

Objectives of LAB i4.0

LAB industria 4.0 was born with different objectives. It seeks to promote innovative collaborative processes in design, production, organisation, logistics and distribution systems in the Region's industry, both locally and internationally.

It also aims to promote the incorporation of more efficient, sustainable and competitive processes and materials. To promote the development of new businesses with the incorporation of the ICTs, to develop intelligent capital goods as well as personalized consumer products, among others.

Next meeting in October

The LAB industry 4.0 working group is scheduled to meet several times a year. The next meeting is scheduled for October, when Ivace has asked the rest of the members to propose an inventory of actions already underway and planned, based on the action lines defined in the Industry Agenda 4.0 Plan, to help define future challenges that can be developed in the LAB.

LAB industria 4.0 is part of the Smart Specialization Strategy of the Comunitat Valenciana (RIS3CV), whose secretariat is held by Ivace.
